Rifle Ice Conditions 12-18-15

The ice in Rifle is a go! Kind of 🙂

Things were looking good in Rifle in November but warm temperatures in the first half of December set things back and it’s only in the last week that things have become climbable in Rifle. Expect thin conditions and some potentially sketchy topouts but for a savvy ice climber they’ll be excited to swing some tools in Rifle!

See condition pics below for Rifle. Elsewhere in the area, the Redstone Pillar has been getting climbed since before Thanksgiving but not much else in the area has had enough ice. In the Redstone area things should improve now that we’ve had a good dump of snow and the temperatures are more favorable.

As always, let us know at 970-319-0656 if we can help you get out on the ice.
